The new trio of Lacoste ambassadors are sporting names from the US, UK and Germany

French sportswear brand Lacoste has added three new names to its list of Olympic ambassadors, building partnerships with the trio until 2025. The additions “reaffirm the brand’s commitment to maintaining its association with the Olympics and Paralympics,” it said.

Newcomers are Ruth Mwandumba (shooting representing the United Kingdom), Ashley Johnson (water polo, USA) and Marcel Nguyen (artistic gymnastics, Germany).

British-Malawian Ruth Mwandumba is considered England’s best shooter and is “investing in her discipline to change the way women are seen in this unique sport”.

African-American Ashley Johnson is considered by many to be the best water polo goalkeeper in the world. He is a three-time world champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020) and wants to win in Paris 2024.

German artistic gymnast Marcel Nguyen – the son of a Vietnamese father and a German mother – was the 2012 Olympic runner-up on the all-around and parallel bars. Four years later, in Rio, Nguyen introduced a new move in the middle of an official competition. After two years on the sidelines due to injuries, she returned to competition in 2022 by qualifying for the rings, parallel bars and horizontal bars finals at the Varna Challenge Cup.
