The Lisbon Stock Exchange closed the session in negative territory, with eight out of 16 listed PSI losing more than 1%. Thus, the national scene is dyed with the color that prevails in the rest of Europe, with the exception of Milan and Madrid.
The PSI fell 0.66% to 6,001.51 points, ending its third consecutive day in the red, the longest losing streak in nearly a month.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the main national index, 13 companies ended the day in the negative zone and only one company closed in the green zone, with two companies remaining unchanged.
Greenvolt sank 4.35% to €6.37 – falling to the lows of June 9 – moments before this year’s first-quarter accounts were released.
The company led by João Manso Neto’s Nos followed to the downside, slipping 2.05% to €3.34.
Cortesira Amorim completes the podium of those who lost the most, losing 1.91% to €9.78.
In the energy sector, and via PSI, Galp was the only listed company that closed in the green, gaining 1.77% to €10.90, renewing its April 28 highs. The company led by Phillip Silva was driven by oil, which is rising in both London and New York.
The REN remained unchanged at €2.52.
Still on the losses side in the energy sector, in addition to Greenvolt, EDP fell 1.74% to €4.58, while the renewable energy arm fell 1.03% to €19.20 – these are the declines most affecting the direction of the PSI, since then. They are two heavyweights in the National Benchmark Index.
BCP also helped the negative move, returning 0.27% to 22.25 cents.
In retail, Jerónimo Martins gave up 0.48% to €25.14, on the same day it became known that more than 60,000 workers in Bedronca would see wage increases from July 1. In the same sector, Sonae lost 0.49%, to 0.911 euros.
Among the paper companies, Altri fell 1.82% to 4.20 euros, Semapa offered 1.34% to 13.28 euros, and Navigator fell 1.87% to 3.14 euros.
