Nearly ten years after being kicked by Eden Hazard, Charlie Morgan, the ball boy of the 2012/13 season, has returned to the English and international media. But this time as one of the names on the list of the richest young people in the United Kingdom with a fortune of about 55 million pounds sterling.
Charlie Morgan's transformation began in partnership with a university friend in 2015, when he decided to open a company specializing in alcoholic beverages of Russian origin, called AU Vodka. With an estimated fortune of £55 million (about R$342 million), the businessman is ranked 27th on The Times list of the 35 richest people under 35 in the UK.
In addition to his appearance in the Times list, businessman Charlie Morgan is also ahead of names such as Harry Kane, from Tottenham, model Cara Delevingne, and singer Niall Horan, from One Direction.
Charlie initially appeared in the decisive match between Chelsea and Swansea City, in the English League Cup, 2012/2013 season. Morgan was 17 at the time, the son of one of the Welsh team's managers, and played ball boy in the semi-final. After delaying in throwing the ball in the 33rd minute of the second half, he was kicked by Eden Hazard, one of the prominent names in the English team. The Blues needed a win to advance to the decision – which did not happen – and the athlete was ejected.
Hazard apologized after what happened and explained: “The boy put his entire body on top of the ball and I was trying to shoot it. I even think I hit the ball, but I apologize for what happened. I spoke to him during the match.” “The locker room and I apologize.”
