Umuarama municipality is making a joint effort to combat dengue that will collect waste and debris from the neighborhoods of Jabuticaperas and Nova Esperanca de Umuarama. The measure will be implemented next Monday (May 2) and residents are recommended to leave materials on the sidewalks.
As announced, the task force aims to narrow the chances of the Aedes aegypti mosquito spreading, and to reduce the number of places that can serve as a breeding ground for the animal, such as old furniture, old tires and basins with standing water.

Currently, several Omwarama districts are in a state of dengue outbreak. Information from the Environmental Health Monitoring Service indicates that seven regions are currently facing an outbreak of dengue fever, with 81 confirmed cases of the disease, according to the last post.
