ULS do Nordeste Nutrition and Food Service responds to the population in a close context.
The North-East Local Health Unit (ULS) provides specialized nutrition and nutrition care, allowing patients at different stages of life to be monitored, and to respond to their needs in a context of proximity.
The Nutrition and Dietetics Service responds to the population in ULS's North East coverage area, providing nutritional care and counseling in the areas of nutrition and nutrition within the scope of hospital care, primary health care, palliative care and continuing care.
With a team of seven nutritionists, three in the hospital area and four in the primary health care area, the teams' intervention covers the areas of clinical nutrition, community nutrition, public health, group nutrition and catering, with appreciation for teaching activities. Training, research and scientific advice in its fields of activity, with the aim of continuously improving the services available to the population.
According to ULS North East, within the scope of clinical nutrition, during 2023 5,780 nutritional consultations were carried out, of which 3,094 were in hospital care (2,117 outpatient consultations, 575 support consultations for inpatient services and 402 pediatric consultations). Nutrition) and 2,686 in primary health care (2,666 outpatient consultations and 20 home nutrition consultations).
