A heart attack left Christina Rossi, 37, seven months pregnant, in a coma in July last year. The Italian woke up this week, after ten months.
At the time, when Christina arrived at the hospital, the doctors opted for an emergency caesarean section. Katrina was born prematurely and also ended up in the hospital for a few months due to lack of oxygen during childbirth.
Christina fell into a coma after giving birth because doctors suspected she had a brain injury.
I woke up this week, according to the Italian newspaper NationAnd the first word she said was “Mom”. In the room were her husband, Gabriel Suchi, and her mother.
“We weren’t expecting that, it was a real joy after so much suffering,” her husband said.
In April, Christina was taken to a clinic in Austria for specialists to see while she recovered.
Treatment abroad was made possible thanks to a fundraiser that raised more than 170,000 euros.
The possibility of Christina having brain damage is still being evaluated. At this point, Gabrielle reveals that his wife is “unrecognizable, more relaxed” and is being treated to be able to develop physically.
