The wedding of Ruben Neves and Débora Lourenço was initially scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic, with their wedding being held, as the footballer said, with “double” ceremonies.
The luxurious JW Marriot Venice & Spa, in Venice, Italy, was the venue for the ceremony and after-party, which featured entertainment provided by Calima, as well as a guest reception the day before, which included a performance by musician Fernando Daniel.
The entire space was transformed into a dream location by Marisa Rodrigues, a Porto organizer, who has been with the couple for a long time.
“This love and this wedding are a real fairy tale!” said Katia Almeida, wife of Sporting de Braga footballer Ricardo Horta, proud to be “officially godparents”.
The newlyweds are currently living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Ruben Neves represents Al Hilal, with a date to play at the end of Euro 2024, if Portugal reaches the final “knockout” in Berlin. The player will have to report to Al Hilal on July 27, so the honeymoon days are numbered.
In May 2018, during a boat trip on the Douro River, the national team midfielder asked Débora to marry him. At the time, their eldest daughter, Margarida, was nine months old. Their second son was born on April 13, 2019, and Mateo joined his siblings on January 31, 2021.
