Pedro Abronhosa, 61 years old, had a privileged childhood, in the bosom of a bourgeois family, however, he was not fascinated by this, and from a young age he ventured into the world. He decided to travel when he was only 13 years old, when it was April 25th in Portugal, and he had a great desire to explore new places but little money.
“My heroes, Tom Sawyer, and Robinson Crusoe have traveled, and then one day I suggested to my father, ‘Wait a minute: If these travel, why can’t I travel?” My mom was terrified and my dad said: ‘No, Pedro Abronhosa said to Manuel Luis Josha on ‘Kunta Me’ this Saturday, March 5th.
At the time, in the 1970s, when he was only 13 years old, he chose to go to Paris and went alone by train, a three-day journey. He continued, “There is a discovery of Europe and the world when I arrive in Paris, completely alone. I travel for a month.”
The problem is that in that month it only took 300 escudos (the currency at the time, which corresponds to about 1.50 euros today). “At that time, it was enough for me to travel for a month. But my budget was tight and sometimes I eat cat food. I don’t deny cat food, which was the cheapest in the supermarket.” Revealed to Manuel Luis Josha.
Confused at first, but after understanding, the TVI presenter said “there are some cans that smell so good and make you want to eat,” Josheh joked.
Pedro Abronhosa went into depth and said that it only happened in the final stage. “In the last days of the trip, it was necessary to save money. Or I would have stolen some bananas,” he began, without concluding, but it was understood that the alternative would be tins of cat food.
Since then, the little animal has stayed and become a “traveling veteran,” he says, setting out again in his later teenage years and, once out, while exploring, doing some work to earn money. He was involved in picking apples, grapes and oranges, even worked in a pizzeria and even drove a factory truck.
Travel has remained in the artist’s life, even in his musical career when he released his first album “Viagens”, which was released in 1994. Pedro Abrunhosa is adding several special moments in his music career and is about to add another one.
