With more than 20 years working in the financial sector, Pedro Pinto has been selected to take up the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Oney Bank Portugal. After visiting countries such as Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Angola, the professional is now back in Portugal to accept the invitation made by the bank that specializes in payment, financing and insurance solutions.
The new CEO of the Information Division commented: “With great enthusiasm I have embraced this new challenge with the mission of expanding the digital transformation that we have already started, as Oney Bank has at its core the constant search for innovative technological solutions and operational efficiency.”
In a statement, Pedro Pinto affirmed that he believes in technological and digital transformation as an engine for success for companies, institutions and individuals. This will be a vision that Unni will also share. “Our priority is to continue investing in customer satisfaction, ensuring the best service and most appropriate solutions, bearing in mind that digital transformation has brought new consumption habits and an increasingly demanding customer,” he adds.
Pedro Pinto holds a degree in economics from the Technical University of Lisbon – ISEG, with a major in corporate finance from ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
He started his career at Accenture in 2001, after 10 years at Ernst & Young (EY), where he was, among others, a Leader of the Country Adviser to the Financial Sector in Angola. In 2017, he joined Banco Económico as Digital Director and CEO.
