Christmas shopping has taken a different turn in the UK amid growing uncertainty due to the Ómicron variant, according to IGD’s latest ShopperVista survey.
32% of shopkeepers said செய்திகள்micron’s messages affected their celebrations and 27% said they had avoided making plans altogether due to the possibility of last minute restrictions.

According to the study, 35% expected their purchases, although 17% left it at the last minute because of uncertainty about what their festivities would look like.
Of the shoppers who went to convenience stores for Christmas shopping, 45% went shopping for last-minute items. The same is true for the 25% of consumers who choose “quick business” solutions.
44% of those who said they were directly affected by the Ómicro variant used online purchasing or “click-and-collect” services.
Future trends
The IGD has identified key trends for 2022, in which buyers are divided based on their economic situation. Increasing financial pressure in various sectors and taxes will affect purchases. Shoppers will be more active and will change their shopping habits to meet the challenges.
By 2022, shoppers will focus on saving time and looking for retailers for quick, convenient solutions to their shopping style, IGD adds. Consumers expect retailers and manufacturers to continue to implement sustainability and health plans and activities.
