The Republic of Armando Guebuza.
The case sparked several criminal and civil lawsuits in Mozambique, the United States and the United Kingdom.

In its closing arguments, the prosecution asked the court for a maximum sentence of eight out of 19 accused, a sentence close to the maximum for ten accused, and acquittal of only one.
The Mozambican Public Prosecutor’s Office also asked the court to order the defendants to pay compensation of 2.7 billion dollars (2.3 billion euros), equal to the total hidden debt, in addition to interests of 850.5 billion euros.
