a Meghan Markle’s uncle, Michael Markle, better known as Mike, has died at the age of 82, according to The Sun. The sources revealed to the publication that the former diplomat was battling Parkinson’s disease, after going through more fragile moments in recent years.
One source said: “Mike was loving, kind and an old man with easy conversations. He was always happy when asked about Meghan, but whenever he talked to someone he wanted to talk about his deceased wife – she liked her very much,” one source said.
The same makes it known that Mike was very “proud” of Meghan and that he wished he had the opportunity to meet the Prince.
“She was known in the community for being Megan’s uncle and she always stopped by to say how proud she was even though she didn’t always agree with the way she did things,” he continues. “I usually say, ‘It’s not every day you have a prince in the family, it seems to me.'”
In a previous interview, Michael revealed to Women Magazine that he helped Megan start her career. When the Duchess was 20, it was he who gave her access to training as a press officer at the US Embassy in Argentina, where Markle was considering pursuing a career in international relations.
