The municipality of Seia has just received 2,000 new trees in an area devastated by fires in recent years. This was the result of a social responsibility initiative by Linde Saúde, a home respiratory healthcare provider, in the month when World Arbor Day is celebrated.
The event took place on March 11, and brought together about 40 people, including Luciano Ribeiro, mayor of Seia, and Paulo Pena, president of the Federation of Parishes of Seia, São Romao and Lapa dos Denheiros, according to the company’s notes press.
“We believe that such gestures, even on a small scale, are very important for preserving the planet, because they contribute to the quality of the air we breathe and to our health. Improving the conditions of the communities in which we live and interact with will continue to be part of Linde Saúde’s priorities, from a social and environmental point of view ” says Maria Joao Vitorino, director of Linde Saúde.
In addition to the mayors of the City Council of Seia and the Federation of Parishes of Seia, São Romao and Lapa dos Denheiros, Tania Costa, responsible for the Linde Saúde project, and Eulália Botelho, coordinator of the ProNatura project of the National Association of Forestry Companies, Agriculture and the Environment (ANEFA) were also present. Staff from Linde Saúde City Council and Seia also participated in the event, bringing together 116 Scouts from Seia and the local community.
A relationship that inspires sustainability
This initiative came within the scope of the “Communication That Inspires Sustainability” initiative, which was launched at the beginning of this year. For every patient registration Linde Saúde monitors on the LISA app and portal, the company has committed to planting a tree in a fire-affected area.
The LISA App and Portal is the exclusive digital area for Linde Saúde companions, which allows access to and management of treatment information. Promotes independence and coaching for health by providing data on treatment progression and educational content, among other features.
Linde Saúde has been operating in Portugal for over 35 years and is dedicated to providing home respiratory care, respiratory rehabilitation, telehealth and telemonitoring. It is a national leader in remote monitoring of people with respiratory and heart diseases, and within its scope of activity, it provides exclusive digital platforms, targeting users and health professionals, thus promoting convergence between them.
