On Monday, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Health, Antonio Lacerda Sales, considered that the refusal to register users in health centers was “irresponsible” and that if this happened it “must be informed”.
Lacerda sales position comes after Newspaper You mentioned that many health centers have reached the maximum number of users and are rejecting new requests.
When asked about the matter, he said, on the sidelines of the start of the international and European test week in Lisbon, “If this happens, this is irresponsible behavior and should be reported.”
The government official stressed, “The matter, then, is not about rejecting anyone, and no one can be rejected, what can happen is the family doctor is not assigned immediately, and now it is rejected with a guarantee that it will not be rejected.”
Regarding vaccination against Covid-19, Lacerda Sales announced that the state will “strengthen human resources later this week”, which includes doctors, nurses and health technicians, stressing that we are above the target set by Christmas.
“Our goal is to vaccinate about 1.6 million people, and that number has now more than doubled,” he noted.
