After a month and a half in Portugal – during which she was admitted to a private hospital – Betty Grafstein returned to the United States.
With this in mind, José Castelo Branco will be removed from his electronic bracelet, a coercive measure applied to him by the court and preventing him from approaching his wife.
“The coercive measures applied by the Portuguese state, although it is a country in the European Union, have no binding force in the territory of North America, and therefore it is free to do whatever it wants there.”Lawyer Susana Garcia noted on the “Dois à 10” program on Friday the 6th of this month.
The lawyer took the opportunity to criticize the photos of Betty that were recently published. “Do you think any of us would want to be portrayed this way?” he asks.
“One of them asked Betty for permission, saying, ‘Look, Betty, can you calm down and we’re going to record this and put it on the news?’ “If I were a friend of someone in these circumstances, I would record it so I could present it to the authorities, but I would never show this vulnerability in every way to unknown people.”
