Hey The area near where Jay Slater’s body was found is being searched again by search teams and tracking dogs. Authorities want to make sure nothing has gone unnoticed in the dense vegetation that covers the area.
The site being searched is about a mile (1.6 km) from where the Briton’s mobile phone was last tracked, and one local told Sky News it was “very difficult” to walk around the area safely.
Another resident confirms that “it is difficult to understand how the young man ended up there.”
Jay Slater’s body was found on Monday, and a court spokesman confirmed the identity of the body on Tuesday, after fingerprints examined in an autopsy matched the young man’s. It had previously been revealed that Jay Slater’s documents had been recovered with the body.
The boy had been missing since June 17, after participating in a music festival in Playa de las Americas.
Jay Slater disappeared while trying to return to the AirBnb where he was staying. A search for the young man was launched, involving several police forces, helicopters, drones and specialized tracking dogs.
