The Spanish newspaper El Mundo claims that in order to sign Barcelona striker Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain paid more than 489 million euros.
The contract with Neymar by Paris Saint-Germain, in 2017, cost the French team an astronomical value of 489,228,117 euros when added to the six-year contract. This was revealed on Saturday by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo
The clause to terminate Neymar alone cost 222 million euros. To get an idea of the amount of values, Real Madrid tried to sign Mbappe in the last transfer window for 170 million euros. England midfielder Jack Grealish, for example, signed for Manchester City from Aston Villa for around €117 million.
El Mundo newspaper published Neymar’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain after the signing. The five-season contract stipulated a gross annual salary of €43,334,400. In addition, a sixth year has been added to the contract under which he will receive $50,556,117 if he remains at the club. All that sum, along with a termination clause of 222 million euros, raised the operation to nearly 490 million euros.
When the contract was extended in May of this year until 2025, Neymar, according to El Mundo, maintained economic conditions similar to those in the last year of the previous decade. That is why the player transferred all his image rights to the French club.
