Older Xiaomi phones will run a limited version of HyperOS 2.0
According to Xiaomi Time, the device lines that will run limited versions of HyperOS 2.0 are:
- Xiaomi Mi 11;
- Xiaomi Mi 12;
- Redmi 12;
- Redmi Note 12;
- Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G;
- Redmi 13;
- xiao mi lite;
- Boco C;
- Boco M.
Xiaomi hasn’t released details about OS restrictions. But Xiaomi Time speculated that the company could limit, for example:
- Advanced AI resources (requires a lot of processing power);
- Graphical features (animations and smooth transitions in applications, for example);
- Multitasking efficiency (fluidity requires a lot of RAM).
However, the site highlighted the following: “Even when some features are limited, the overall performance and usability improvements in Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 still represent a significant upgrade over its predecessors.”

How to install Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0
When an update is available, the user’s device will send a notification. You can also check manually – in this case, the person may be able to update sooner than is normally possible (devices don’t check for updates very often).
To manually check for OS updates, the user needs to open their device’s Settings, go to About Phone (or Tablet) and tap on the System Updates option.
