Robinho has announced his departure from Sporting de Braga. The player gave an interview to the club’s media, broadcast on Next channel on Thursday, in which he confirmed the end of the adventure.
βI arrived in 2022, almost 40 years old, which for many is already an advanced age, where the player practically starts to slow down and feel the weight of age even more. Thank God, I always challenged myself and never accepted my age. As long as I have health, energy and the desire to train and win, this is my biggest motivation.β
The 41-year-old left behind 62 official appearances and 42 goals for Braga, after five seasons with Benfica. The winger recalled the criticism he received when he left for Minho.
βWhen I came from Benfica, many people said it was a decline, that leaving there was going to end my career. On the contrary, one of the places where my career was most appreciated was here at Sp. I needed to prove to myself that I was a winner, we won the Cup and we were able to win the Champions League and the Super Cup for the next season,β assured the athlete who holds Brazilian and Russian nationalities.
With an enviable CV, including a Champions League title, Robinho’s future is uncertain.
