Myst originally arrived nearly 30 years ago on PCs in the 90’s. The first-person puzzle-solving game has received a remake in 2021 and now, studio Celestial realms Unveils its latest innovation: Firmament. The new title follows what made Myst a hit and hit PCs on May 18th.
Firmament takes the not-so-well-explored technique: First-person games with an emphasis on exploration, puzzle-solving, and beautiful visuals, without any combat. Quickly, off the top of my head, this premise takes me back to The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (which I highly recommend).
Myst developers game will bring Steampunk look with lots of irons and machines everywhere. Firmament will also support virtual reality, but it will be entirely possible to play it the traditional way.
The developers promise to deliver a “gorgeous visual feast, with exciting new landscapes around every corner.” Puzzles in the game will be solved with a tool called “Vice”. The adventure will not be completely isolated, as it usually happens in this type of game, where the “mysterious apparition” accompanies the hero through the three realms of Firmament.
While the system requirements don’t call for modern hardware, for those who want to get the most out of the game, they’ll need 32GB of RAM, a requirement that has appeared time and time again in AAA PC titles.
