The Festas do Mar returns in a binary format: August 24-27 and August 31-September 3. Celebrate the life and joy of Cascais Bay with a must-have poster.
The summer festival closer to the Atlantic is back with the duet model that was a hit last year, allowing people to come back from their holidays and watch the best music made in Portugal for free.
From August 24-27 and September 31-3, big names such as Miguel Araujo, Mariza, Pedro Abronhosa, Exeso, Diogo Bissara, Fernando Cunha and Friends – 40 years of career, among many others, are kicking off. The opening of this stage will always be performed by artists and bands associated with Cascais, and is a unique opportunity to showcase local talent on the most prestigious stage in the province. The final day will, as usual, be for the Cascais Symphony Orchestra, which will once again sing Bahia with “Best of Festas do Mar”, a moment of infectious joy in which everyone can partake. All major concerts will be broadcast live by longtime partner RFM.
This year, there are two stages at the Festas do Mar again – the main stage, in the center of Baia, and the “Sagres” stage, near Cidadela – which continues to favor Portuguese-language music, combining well-known names with new talents and local artists. To compose the festival of local culture, gastronomy and handicrafts will also have a prominent place in the different spaces between Cidadela and Jardim Visconde da Luz.
Since this is also a family celebration, the little ones will also have their “children’s moments”, on Friday and Saturday, at 6.30 pm, in the Bay of Cascais. Entertainment for everyone is guaranteed.
The Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes parade, one of the highlights of the festivities of the sea, takes place on the 3rd of September, at 3 pm, and to end the festivities there will be a traditional fireworks display.
In 2023, Volkswagen will debut at the Festas do Mar. The summer event, which celebrates music, culture and sustainability, will bring new electric mobility solutions to Cascais. Concerts, activities and exhibitions are part of the brand’s agenda for this event. Thus, the brand will be present with the latest models of its electric fleet while promoting interactive activities to the public and amateurs, providing the complete and engaging brand experience.
Viver Cascais is also back with exclusive venues for all of its users. The Viver Cascais benefit is exclusive to residents, employees and students of the municipality. To enjoy this feature, simply show your valid Viver Cascais card (physical or digital), and you will receive a Viver Cascais bracelet for each day of the concert. 450 bracelets will be distributed daily to access the exclusive Viver Cascais space. The best way to be close to your favorite artists is to have a Viver Cascais card. To join the Viver Cascais Card Access here.
