A 2018 Jaguar I-Pace EV400 HSE, previously owned by King Charles III, has gone up for auction and could fetch more than €80,000.
On March 2, at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, England, the I-Pace will go up for auction, marking the British royal family's first foray into electric vehicles (EV), featuring personal details for the royal family.
King Charles, known for his environmental concerns, purchased the I-Pace in April 2018, and it was customized at the king's request to Loire Blue, making it the only I-Pace to use this colour.
The car also came equipped with special blue lights, a common feature on real vehicles, and the seats were covered in Light Oyster Windsor leather.
The EV400 HSE has a 294 kW electric motor and a 90 kWh battery, and has a range of about 400 km.
After being used for both personal and official purposes, including driving the Queen Camilla, the car was returned to Jaguar in December 2020 with less than 5,000 kilometers on the clock.
Karen French, the current owner, only discovered its true history after she decided to buy it.
Auctioneers estimate that the car will sell for between 64 and 81 thousand euros.
