CLDF adopts protocol to combat dengue, influenza and respiratory diseases
In this Tuesday (11) session of the Legislative Council, representatives of the region approved, in two rounds and in final form, draft Law No. 1.053/2024, which establishes a crisis management protocol to combat seasonal diseases in the Federal District. The text, proposed by Rep. Joaquim Rórez Neto (PL), stipulates that the federal district government must take preventive measures against dengue during rainy periods, between October and May; Influenza between March and July; and allergic rhinitis and asthma from June to October.
“If every year we face problems of dengue fever during the rainy season, as well as allergies and respiratory crises during drought, now we have to get ahead of ourselves,” says the project author.
According to PL, the GDF must prepare, every year, to deal with these diseases, forecasting actions such as the acquisition of vaccines, repellents and rapid tests; employment of smokers; Increasing the number of hospital beds, among other things.
According to the project, the Ministry of Health must prepare response schedules 90 days before the start of seasonal diseases.
