Integration of health, social assistance and education actions, this was the focus of the 5th Intersectoral Forum on Mental Health, convened by Juazeiro City Hall, by the Department of Health (Sesau) and which brought together more than 60 specialists in the Multievents Complex of the Federal University do Val de São Francisco Unifasf, in Juazeiro, on Wednesday morning (16).
The meeting was mediated by health psychologist, Jonalva Paraná, who discussed mental health in primary care, and the moment was taken to discuss the reception of mental health patients in public services and institutions. According to the municipal director of mental health, Ana Iris Almeida, the intersectoral forum “integrates professionals from the services that make up the Health, Aid and Education network, in addition to sectors such as the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Lawyer’s Office, thus ensuring the strengthening of the network to qualify the care provided to Juazeiro users,” he said. .
For Carnaiba Region Primary Care Unit (UBS) dentist Juliana Guedes, all the professionals that make up primary care are part of a patient’s overall health. “Understanding how to deal with mental health cases within the municipal network, and not viewing health as something segmented, where mental health is out of touch, for example in a family health unit in a rural area, is crucial. In this way we understand How to conduct mental health conditions within the health network and we start to see health as an integral part,” he said.
Jussya Rodrigues, coordinator of the Espaço Humanizar, which is run by the Municipal Department of Education and Youth (Seduc), points out that the forums bring moments of dialogue and integration with other professionals. “At this time in the forums, we met other professionals, got to know the services provided better, and also explained the service promoted by education. In order to integrate inclusive education, education professionals need health support, to serve students and their families well, with good education and health.” confirmed.
