The National Conference’s Social Communications Council discussed how health professionals are faring in the region. The public hearing included the participation of the author of a thesis on the practice of journalistic activity, a doctor and a work auditor. Reporter Bruno Lourenco. Since 2015, journalist Christiane Remberg has submitted her doctoral thesis on the practice of journalistic activism to the Social Media Council, as well as subsequent research. Among the most prominent complaints of professionals in the field are the instability and intensification of work, moral and sexual harassment, and physical and mental exhaustion. Dr. Helio Neves reported on the health problems suffered by radio and television workers that were observed during consultations in 2022 and 2023, such as wrist pain, shoulder and spine injuries, depression, panic syndrome and fatigue. Labor Auditor Rosaniora Santos spoke about the importance of unions seeking compliance and disclosure of health and safety standards. It is not intended to be a rule that scares the worker. It must be translated from language, from technical language to simple language, and in this process, which the company is committed to implementing, trade unions can contribute a lot. Composed of 13 full councilors and 13 alternates, the Social Communications Commission is a body of the National Congress that carries out studies, opinions, recommendations and other requests on the subject of social communication in Brazil.
