Brazilian Bruno Soares and England’s Jimmy Murray lost in the doubles final of the Rio Open, on Sunday. Italians Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini won in two sets to one, 7/5, 6/7 and 10/6.
The duo started the match well, but ended up losing in the first set. In the second, Bruno and Jimmy outdid her, mainly due to Murray’s dispatch.
However, the Italian duo excelled in the last set and even opened 6-1 in the excellent tiebreak, making it difficult for rivals to respond.

“It’s been a special week, with the fans by our side, family and friends. It would only be better if it ended with the title,” said Bruno, 39. “I still feel very competitive and that motivates me to keep going. As long as I’m playing in the major tournaments and have a chance to win, that motivates me to keep going.”
It was the duo’s third defeat in a row against Bolelli and Fognini this season. The other two signed at the Sydney and Australian Opens.
