Black Myth: Wukong has once again broken its own record to become the single-player game with the most concurrent players on Steam.
During the last hours of yesterday, August 22, 2024, the Chinese game Game Science registered 2,415,714 concurrent players on Valve’s digital platform, which means that it is continuing to register new players.
Black Legend: Wukong City has yet to enjoy its first weekend of availability, so the number may increase over the next couple of days.

In the first few hours of availability, over 2.2 million players played Black Myth: Wukong simultaneously on Steam (at the time of writing, nearly 1.4 million players were playing it), but its popularity doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
By the end of yesterday, August 21, Black Myth: Wukong set a new player record on Valve’s digital platform, with 2,358,580 concurrent players. This is a new record for a Chinese Game Science game and also a new record for a single-player game on Steam.
To get an idea of how amazing this number is, It’s more than double the best value achieved by Cyberpunk 2077. From the renowned CD Projekt RED, and above the combined value of the Polish RPG and Elden Ring, the award-winning Game of the Year from the renowned FromSoftware.
Word of mouth will certainly help sell more units, but the game’s arrival has sparked a real frenzy even in China, where PlayStation 5 sales are skyrocketing.
