Benfica has just officially announced the departure of Carlos Lisbon, after terminating his contract by mutual agreement between the club and the general director of sport, which is a historic number for the Eagles.
According to the statement, the situation no longer exists after the ongoing reorganization in the sports field, so the two parties reached an agreement to end the contact.
Remember, Carlos Lisboa was an athlete, player and manager for Benfica.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica has decided, within the scope of the ongoing reorganization in the field of sports, to nullify the post of General Director of Roads. In this sense, the club and Carlos Lisbon agreed, by mutual agreement, to terminate his contract.
Sport Lisboa e Benfica expresses its gratitude for the unique and prestigious career that Carlos Lisbon has made in the club’s history: athlete, coach and manager who was and always will be one of the greatest basketball references in Portugal.
Carlos Lisbon donned the jersey of Lisbon and Benfica’s sporting basketball team for the first time on November 10, 1984 – prior to that he had already worn an eagle on his chest at events – and since then has unequivocally contributed to the incomparable honors that the club scores in the manner, adding more than 12 seasons on the field nearly 13,000 points scored in over 650 matches against Benfica (including own matches), many of them as captain.
As a player, he has made a direct impact in 10 National Championships, 5 Portuguese Cups, 5 Super Cups and 5 League Cups.
The transition to the coach proved to be no less fruitful: 5 national championships, 4 Portuguese Cups, 5 Super Cups, 4 League Cups and 4 Antonio Pratas Cups.
In the service of Sport Lisbon Benfica, as a coach and player, Carlos Lisbon won 48 titles.
