Jonathan Silva was immediately expelled from the Atlético squad, after the Lisbon club initiated disciplinary proceedings against him.
In the posted note, the Portuguese championship logo did not specify the reason for this decision, but the player himself, also on social networks, justified himself and apologized.
“I came from two weeks ago dealing with a thigh injury, which is why I was not called up to defend the colors of Atlético last Sunday against Vasco da Videguera. Last weekend, due to an injury that limited my performance recently, I was not called up to play at home and I made the wrong use of That moment to play football with friends in a seven-a-side amateur football league,” admitted the 29-year-old striker.
“Although it is not mandatory, I have to be with Atlético accompanying my teammates in the game. It should not have caused the injury. Atlético is absolutely right in the decision taken. I apologize here to the players, the coaching staff and the fans of the club. I hope It is true that Atlético achieves its goals and returns to the big stages of Portuguese football. I will continue to support the club, but this time in a different way,” added Silva.
By the way, Atlético is currently in first place in Série D of the Portuguese Championship.
