Most of the complaints appeared on social media, many of them after an episode involving singer Sonia Tavares and presenter Bárbara Guimarães, both of whom work for SIC.
The Rock in Rio admits that it is necessary to make adjustments to the festival, which is now held at Parque Tejo in Lisbon. The changes, which will be implemented next weekend, relate to entrances and exits to the venue and waiting times at the festival.
Within two days, the new rock venue in Rio Lisbon welcomed 160,000 people, and reached sold-out capacity in Parque Tejo. If, upon arrival, people arrived far apart, upon departure, everyone was looking for the same destination.
“There is an operation that we carry out with the security forces called ‘Stop and Go’. The security guards block the exit flow a little so that the crowd that has already left flows quietly. There are 80,000 people about to leave for the exit,” the Brazilian businesswoman in charge of Rock in Rio explained to SIC. The complaints are about people who did not know what this process was and thought that we stopped the public because they stopped.”, Roberta Medina.
In the Complaints portalThere was criticism of the shuttle system organized by the festival. But, next weekend, reinforcements are guaranteed.
“We’re talking about 135 complaints among 160,000 people. At Bella Vista, we received 45 complaints. The biggest annoyance we noticed was regarding queues in the bathrooms and dining areas. But, to give you an idea, there are more complaints than 17 dining areas in relation to Bela Vista. We started with a reference that was not enough, so that we can study that for the next version as well as the reinforcement that the operators will do next weekend, we ourselves have to evaluate whether we need to move to a little more industrial processes,” Roberta Medina added.
Rock music at Rio Lisbon is not convincing to festival-goers, and complaints have risen by 97% this year
Most complaints appeared on social media, many after an episode related to the incident Singer Sonia Tavares and presenter Barbara GuimarãesThey both work for SIC.
The lead singer of the band Gift denounced the organization after he was expelled and accused of not adhering to the rules of the so-called VIP area. Roberta Medina ended up apologizing for the situation, and in turn, Sonia Tavares ended up being accepted.
“We understand and have already acted so that this does not happen again in any way. There are 13,000 people working, things that can, but should not, get out of our control. We have already acted and I have already apologized publicly and personally to the people involved, now it is time to prepare for the holiday.” “Next weekend without incident.”
Next weekend the Jonas Brothers and Doja Cat will be headlining.
