The members of FC Porto this evening, in the Magna meeting held at the Estádio do Dragão, approved all the points under discussion and voting in the General Assembly of FC Porto with a large majority. Members also voted in favor of updating stake values.
Before the act, Fernando Gomez was honored, with those present in a grave silence for one minute in memory of the eternal 9. After that, it was up to the vice president in charge of finance to present and explain in detail the positive results of more than 20 million euros passed without a vote against it, with five abstentions Members only for voting.
In response to a question from an assistant about the Cidade FC Porto project, Fernando Gomez revealed that the academy will be in Maya and that the start of the works depends only on the completion of the detailed plan in charge of the architect Manuel Salgado, author of the Estádio projects Dragão and the Dragão Arena pavilion.
The third point under discussion relates to updating the monthly membership fee, and before it is voted on, deserves the attention of Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa – who explained the need to revise the value “for the first time in over 11 years”.
The motion to update the upper fee to 12 euros, the lower to 4 euros and the annual fee for corresponding members to 30 euros was also accepted by the vast majority of those present with four negative votes and 15 abstentions.
Bento da Costa made sure to “thank everyone for coming” and “for the trust and support he has felt over the past 40 years.” “There is a lot to do and work on, so we have to think about the future by working in the present. Many battles ahead, millions in taxes to pay and the media increasingly trying to overthrow FC Porto. We are still focused on our flag and we are not worried about the elections.”
