On life's journey, many families face unique challenges that require additional support. What's more, those who care also need to care!
With this in mind, Metrus organized an important program just over a year ago to welcome parents and guardians of children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Coordinated by the Metrus Saúde outpatient clinic and with an innovative approach, the program offers emotional support, experience sharing and integrated care to families facing challenges associated with autism spectrum disorder.
The program has been recognized by parents participating in meetings and procedures developed in 2023 as essential for providing support, comfort and security in situations requiring a high level of stress, worry and worry. In their opinion, this initiative has proven to be an important resource for strengthening family ties in the face of daily difficulties.
The new phase of the program is considered more comprehensive and can accommodate a larger number of beneficiaries. All beneficiaries, parents or guardians of children diagnosed with autism, who are on one of Metrus' medical plans (MSI, MSE or MSB), will be able to participate.
Through an integrated approach, the program will enhance interactions between participants and provide practical and emotional support.
The program objectives are:
Providing a space for emotional support and sharing experiences to encourage solidarity and mutual understanding of the nuances of autism spectrum disorder.
Paying attention to family concerns, focusing on the special needs of the family and proposing strategies to deal with them.
Develop space for reflection and reframing, and provide important moments of reflection to enhance families' mental and emotional health.
Strengthen family groups, encourage unity, face challenges together, and celebrate achievements.
Encouraging health care and promoting the well-being of all family members.
It is important that parents and caregivers actively seek out the Metrus Saúde Outpatient Clinic to improve the quality of life for the whole family.
What will it be like to participate in the program?
Small groups led by dedicated professionals will be formed to hold meetings and activities, facilitate the exchange of experiences and establish connections between families facing similar challenges.
