Mike Wimmer finishes high school and higher education at the same time.
Mike Wimmer is a 12-year-old boy, born in Northern California, USA. He could be a normal pre-teen kid, but he is preparing to complete high school and higher education.
Wimmer will finish high school at Concord Academy High Shcool on May 28, exactly one week after finishing his higher education at Rowan Kaparos Community College.
Speaking to the BBC, the boy said, “This wasn’t always the plan.” It all began at the start of the pandemic, in March 2020, when Wimer decided to take extra lessons in his spare time. This was how he completed four years of school in just one year – two years of high school and two years of college – and realized that he would be able to complete both degrees at the same time.
At only 12 years old, he will complete an “Associate Degree”, a two-year university degree that aims to provide basic technical knowledge that allows him to work or study in a field.
He said, “A lot of people think I gave up or lost my childhood somehow and I tell them I am enjoying.”
He has a passion for robots and says he learned most things through online videos. Its goal in the future is to “create technology that allows people to live better lives”.
