In the first match after Petit left Boavista, Jorge Cotto, the former assistant who coached the team, explained the few changes and left a note about the departure of the coach who worked with him.
“It was a short time and not much has changed. He gave the players confidence, made them believe, because we left some matches without scoring, and in those times the confidence dropped a little. I leave a word of gratitude to Betty, who was an excellent professional during these two years and had an excellent demeanor. “We are all rooting for him,” the 53-year-old said in the quick interview area.
Regarding his new position as coach, Jorge Cotto explained that it is, at least initially, a short-term option: “At the moment it is transitional. In the future, management will decide how they understand what they think is best for the club.
Regarding the match itself, the draw that was achieved in stoppage time against Vitoria gave importance to the point and considered it “fair”:
“It’s a very delicious point, one you believe in until the end, and, in my opinion, a fair point. We were a competitive team. A balanced first half, in which we created danger from set pieces, then a second half in which we were better and lacked acumen in finishing attacks.”
The coach will not make any further statements tonight, as Boavista will not be present at the press conference.
